Congratulations to Devon Boyne who passed his doctoral defense for his thesis project entitled: Predicting adjuvant chemotherapy discontinuation and its impact on survival among stage Ill colon cancer patients. Devon has been enrolled in the Department of Community Health Sciences for the past four years and has distinguished himself during this time through his excellence in his academic performance recognized by several external scholarships, opportunities for teaching assistantships in the Biostatistics courses (rare for an Epidemiology graduate student), involvement in many other research projects with other Cumming School of Medicine researchers and publication of several high impact papers. Devon has already secured funding for postdoctoral work from CIHR and will be continuing his training under the supervision of Drs. Darren Brenner and Winson Cheung particularly in the Oncology Outcomes program.
