Dr. Cheryl Peters is leading a SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant along with Alison Palmer (CAREX Canada), Gordon Pennycook (URegina) and Elizabeth Holmes (Canadian Cancer Society who is the project partner). The team members who worked on the grant and will be engaged in the research include Ela Rydz and Sajjad Fazel. The grant is entitled “Assessing Canadians’ awareness of risk factors and belief in myths about what causes cancer” is funded for one year at $21,500 and will ex-amine how the CCS and others to debunk myths about cancer causes so that cancer can be prevented more effectively. This research involves a national online survey that will be used to inform a fall application to the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant.
