Dr. Christine Friedenreich begins a two-year renewable term as the Chair of the Advisory Committee on Research (ACOR) for the Canadian Cancer Society on July 1, 2021 ACOR provides oversight for all CCS grants and awards programs. ACOR also helps recommend research programs and priorities, research and science policies, ongoing research strategic planning and evaluation of all CCS’s research programs. It consists of 12-15 researchers from all areas of cancer research from across Canada as well as CCS senior leaders. ACOR performs as a management committee that makes recommendations through the Vice-President Research to the President and CEO of the CCS.
