Congratulations to Dr. Anita Brobbey, supervised by Dr. Cheryl Peters, on being selected
as the Cumming School of Medicine-Charbonneau Postdoctoral Scholar for her work titled “Investigating the impacts of air pollution and radiation exposures on the risk of cancer and mortality in Canada”. Dr. Brobbey’s research focuses on identifying whether exposure to air pollution or ionizing radiation increases the risk of selected cancers, and for radiation, to additionally investigate links with other causes of mortality in Canada. She aims to identify exposure-disease pairs that may benefit from cancer prevention activities. Findings from this study will provide vital information on the possible link between environmental
exposures and health outcomes (cancer and mortality).
