Dr. Darren Brenner, Dr. Bob Hilsden and study team, also received funding through the CCS–CIHR Action Grant competition for their grant entitled “The Colorectal Cancer Chemoprevention Acceleration and iMprovement Platform (CRC-CHAMP) Study”. The overall goal of this pilot project is to develop a platform for both large-scale chemoprevention trials and real- world chemoprevention studies for CRC prevention while leveraging an already established screening program. The specific objectives are to:
-
- 1) Evaluate the feasibility of a real-world chemopreventive agent (CPA) intervention program for patients at high-risk for CRC based on patient uptake and adherence;
-
- 2) Evaluate factors related to uptake and adherence of CPAs;
-
- 3) Evaluate the interest in CPAs for patients attending a screening centre.
