The PEAK-RC study is a randomized controlled trial testing the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a HIIT intervention that prepares bladder cancer patients for radical cystectomy. Radical cystectomy is often the best treatment option for muscle invasive bladder cancer, but the complication rate is as high as 60%. In partnership with the Prostate Cancer Centre in Calgary, the goal of this project is to develop an RC prehabilitation model to improve the quality of care and experience and outcome of patients in an efficient and minimally disruptive manner at a low cost.
