In the Department we have a focus on training future research leaders in cancer prevention. The Research Scientists in CEPR all hold faculty appointments in the Department of Oncology in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary. Several also hold appointments in Community Health SciencesStatistics and/or Kinesiology. In addition, the CEPR Research Scientists are affiliated with two Institutes in the Cumming School of Medicine: the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute and the O’Brien Institute of Public Health.

Students

Research Scientists are able to supervise graduate students (MSc and PhD) and post-doctoral fellows in a wide range of cancer prevention-related disciplines.

With their faculty appointments, academic affiliations and involvement in committees and other professional activities through the University of Calgary, the CEPR Research Scientists are involved in teaching and supervising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

    Volunteers

    At CEPR volunteers play an integral part in our research. Many volunteer opportunities are available in on-going studies of cancer prevention and survival.

    Volunteer responsibilities range from contacting study participants, data collection and entry, literature searches and other research-related tasks. Past volunteers have enjoyed volunteering in the department and have gained research experience which has led to a wide array of health-related careers.
